First edition of the first children's book by Baum, delayed for publication after MOTHER GOOSE IN PROSE but composed before it.
A marvelous fantasy in "Phunnyland" inhabited by Princes Zingle and Fiddlecumdoo, Timtom and the Princesses Truella and Pattycake. This title, obvious attempt to piggyback on the popularity of ALICE IN WONDERLAND, was drastically reworked and later published as THE SURPRISING ADVENTURES OF THE MAGICAL MONARCH OF MO. A notoriously rare Baum fantasy.
