First edition thus of the classic tale of a Kentucky orphan Chad who joins the Union Army, illustrated in Wyeth's fluid, painterly style – a strikingly bright and beautiful copy.
Fine in very good plus box.
THE LITTLE SHEPHERD OF KINGDOM COME
"It was not until Shiloh that Chad got his shoulder-straps, leading a charge."
One of Fox's best-known works, THE LITTLE SHEPHERD OF KINGDOM COME was adapted into a film three separate times. The 1920 silent film, staring Jack Pickford, is lost. This copy has been well preserved by its original box: the cloth is as fresh as we've ever seen it.
