First edition of this avant-garde activity and moveable book, "influenced by the discoveries of child-psychology which assign an active role to the child even when he is looking at pictures" (Hürlimann).
Very good plus.
DAS WUNDERHAUS [The House of Wonders]
"Every page [...] gives the child something to twist or pull, something to think about..." – Hürlimann
Each page offers the reader a different activity, from lifting flaps to reveal pictures beneath, to turning a wheel to change scenes, to creating text for different stories by using a moveable grid. DAS WUNDERHAUS is one of only two moveable books by Seidmann-Freud, whose books were "very successful but disappeared from bookstores in about 1937 owing to the author's non-Aryan descent" (Hürlimann). The book comes with two separate grids and one color picture; it has five leaves with nine activities. This is a nice copy of an exceedingly scarce book.
