By Laura Bancroft, pseudonym of L. Frank Baum, illustrated by Maginel Wright Enright
First and only edition of Baum's pseudonymously published Twinkle Tales.
TWINKLE AND CHUBBINS
The text contains all 6 of the Twinkle Tales that first appeared pseudonymously in 1906: Mr. Woodchuck, Bandit Jim Crow, Prairie Dog Town, Prince Mud-Turtle, Twinkle's Enchantment and Sugar-Loaf Mountain. Illustrator Enright was Frank Lloyd Wright's sister. This is an incredible copy of a very scarce Baum title, extremely rare in the pictorial dust jacket.
Chicago: Reilly & Britton, (1911). Full title: Twinkle and Chubbins: their astonishing adventures in Nature Fairyland. 7.5'' x 5.75''. Original yellow pictorial cloth stamped in green, red and black. In original dust jacket, variant 2. 94 color illustrations plus several black & whites by Enright. 384 pages. Ink gift inscription on front fly leaf. Jacket with large chip at head of spine, lesser chip at foot, closed tears with attendant tape repairs on verso, and some soiling.
Fine in very good jacket.
