First edition of the sequel to BENJAMIN BUNNY, in the rare publisher's glassine printed 1911 or after (with titles running to TIMMY TIPTOES).
"I must try and do another rabbit book [...] all the little boys and girls like the rabbits best." – Potter letter to a young fan
In this book Potter returns to her beloved characters Benjamin Bunny and Peter Rabbit – now as adults. According to biographer Linda Lear, "Both BENJAMIN BUNNY and the later TALE OF THE FLOPSY BUNNIES grew out of 'left-over illustrations' from PETER RABBIT." Adult Peter Rabbit is a florist, and this time his niblings are the ones sneaking into Mr. McGregor's garden. This is a great copy, rare in the wrapper.
