"The Boos, of course, could understand what all the animals and birds said, and loved having pleasant chats with them."
Attwell's illustrations of the BOO-BOOS and of chubby-cheeked children were tremendously popular throughout the first half of the 20th century; her art appeared on everything from cards to posters to bathroom plaques. Her style has hints of Art Nouveau and Art Deco, but adjusted for a childlike atmosphere. These books rarely survive in collectible condition.
