"England, in the late ninth century, is still a dream in the minds of a few visionaries..."

Collection of UK and American signed first printings of the first ten novels in Cornwell's history-steeped SAXON STORIES, renamed after the adaptation of the television series, THE LAST KINGDOM.
THE LAST KINGDOM Series
"Alfred the Great [...] still has some years to reign, Æthelflaed of Mercia has glory to find, and Uhtred of Bebbanburg, a fictional character, though based on a real man who happens to be one of my paternal ancestors, has a long road to travel."
Cornwell uses the life and achievements of Alfred the Great to weave a series of thrilling historical adventure novels – with a protagonist based on one of his own ancestors. This collection contains: THE LAST KINGDOM (#1, 2004; UK); THE PALE HORSEMAN (#2, 2005; UK); THE LORDS OF THE NORTH (#3, 2006; UK), SWORD SONG (#4, 2007; UK); THE BURNING LAND (#5, 2009; US), THE DEATH OF KINGS (#6, 2011; US), THE PAGAN LORD (#7, 2014; US), THE EMPTY THRONE (#8, 2014; UK), WARRIORS OF THE STORM (#9, 2015, UK), and THE FLAME BEARER (#10, 2016; UK). The series is ongoing, with two more titles published in 2018 and 2019 not found here.
