In order to maintain the utmost secrecy about the highly anticipated conclusion to the series, Bloomsbury filed proofs for this book under faux names, including the subtly cheeky EDINBURGH POTMAKERS. The Harry Potter series has been the biggest literary phenomenon of our lifetime: the books have been formative for millions, including the many readers who also reject Rowling's transphobic statements. Rowling's public signings decreased after the 4th book and continued to decrease after the 5th, with the result that the later installments are common in the first edition but uncommon signed.

In original unclipped (£17.99) color pictorial dust jacket with same design. 607,  pages. Inscribed by Rowling in black ink on title page, "To Simon / JK Rowling / X," with hologram sticker affixed to top right-hand corner; promotional material from book release party included. Leaves very faintly toned as usual, light thumbsoil and a bit of cracking to hinge at title page (likely from signing). Jacket with a light spot of dampstain to head of spine, visible only close inspection on verso.
