A TIME TO KILL
"And until we can see each other as equals, justice is never going to be even-handed. It will remain nothing more than a reflection of our own prejudices."
Grisham's first legal thriller — adapted into a the 1996 film of the same name starring Sandra Bullock, Matthew McConaughey, and Samuel L. Jackson — A TIME TO KILL was famously rejected by numerous publishers, until it finally found a home at the small Wynwood Press, which issued it in a first printing of just 5000 copies in 1989. It wasn't until the success of THE FIRM two years later that TIME TO KILL itself became a bestseller. Copies signed in the year of publication, as here, therefore are quite uncommon. A handsome copy of an auspicious debut.
