"The inherent elasticity of the image and the effects on its internal relations of scale have a particularly attractive effect." — Johanna Drucker
Gleber's artists' books "structure as an organizational apparatus rather than a craft of production" (Drucker). A Chicago native, Gleber is intimately familiar with the skyline he depicts here. By allowing the reader to hide or reveal as much of the city as they wish, he seems to invite them to balance metropolitan life with the big skies of the surrounding countryside. A charming and engaging work.
