Collects whimsical essays on various sports (fencing, sailing, crabbing, deer hunting, bicycling, and many others) with humorous illustrations. The author notes in his preface: "if you happen to have any time to kill, which you feel sure deserves to die a horrid death, you can hardly find a better method for its cruel slaughter than the perusal of the following pages." Front cover illustration depicts an unfortunate "automobiling" jaunt. A charming little book.

Philadelphia: Henry Altemus Co., (1900). Hardcover. 16mo. Printed cloth. A very good plus copy. Tiny nick in fabric on spine. Minimal edgewear, light surface scratch to (gilt) top edge. Endpapers mildly foxed and creased. Hairline crack at title page. Text block bright and clean throughout. Good and sound. Overall, sharp. 226pp.
