"The only tired I was, was tired of giving in."
Rosa Parks's refusal to vacate her bus seat for a white rider continues to be one of the most enduring symbols of the Civil Rights Movement. This action has sometimes been characterized as a result of Parks simply being exhausted, rather than as a calculated effort to rally support for the Montgomery Bus Boycott – in MY STORY, Parks makes her intention clear. Recording a critical moment in US American history, this copy is signed by Parks in the year of publication.
