Tomie dePaola's name is synonymous with warm childhood memories and creative excellence. THE NEW YORKER called his work "moral but not moralistic," noting that "[t]here is disarray in it, and people are imperfect and can make mistakes, but there is goodness, too." Over his long career, dePaola earned the Children's Literature Legacy Award, a nomination for the Hans Christian Andersen Award, a Newbery Medal, a Caldecott Honor, and numerous other accolades. Scarce inscribed.
