Near fine in near fine dust jacket.
Arnold Lobel's stories and art all have a distinctive cozy, homey quality to them. Despite this, by his own admission, he much preferred the art part: "I have to force myself not to think in visual terms, because I know if I start to think of pictures, I'll cop out on the text," he admitted to the NEW YORK TIMES. He is one of the select group of children's book creators who have earned both the Caldecott and the Newbery Medals for his work.
