The iconic wave design of the earliest Loveswept entries represented editor Carolyn Nichols's vision for the line: "With Loveswept, we have anticipated the wave of the future" (quoted in Guiley, 178). Unlike most category romance branding strategies, Loveswept made the authors the stars. This is evident from the first book here, in which a picture and biography of Sandra Brown is the first material a reader sees upon opening the book (on the verso of the front wrapper).
