This study of the once-neglected artist, issued on the occasion of an exhibition held by the Walker Art Center of Minneapolis, offers a feminist-influenced reappraisal of Höch's career and issues a scholarly rebuke to those art historians who followed her own contemporaries in characterizing her as a "good girl" (Hans Richter) with real talent but small significance. Copiously illustrated, offering a thorough sampling of Höch's "prodigious, variegated" output in photomontage, as well as several examples of her work in other media.
First edition. Minneapolis: Walker Art Center, (1996). 11.5'' x 8.75''. Original pictorial wrappers. 224, [2] pages. 109 plates, many in color, with additional illustrations. Light rippling to wrappers and half-title. Minor soil to covers. Overall clean and sound.
