First published in the pages of Redbook magazine under the title RECIPE FOR MURDER, this Crime Club selection by the renowned critic and Sherlock Holmes scholar was adapted for film (also in 1935) by director Eugene Forde, starring Victor McLaglen as one of the story's two detectives. A handsome copy.

In later (circa 1939) Caxton House dust jacket, with publisher's advertisements printed on verso. 299,  pages. Though no provenance markings, this copy from the library of the noted actor and Sherlockian Curtis Armstrong. Rubbing and a few small holes to cloth of front board; general edgewear to extremities. Jacket lightly chipped, spine verso reinforced with brown tape. In custom red cloth slipcase.
