First edition. New-York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1879. 7'' x 5''. Original blue pictorial gloth binding with gilt stamping. Edges stained red. Brown endpapers with ornamental acanthus pattern. viii, 136 pages. Contemporary owner names to verso of front flyleaf, first blank, half title page, and page 51: Nellie Brueningham and Ella Luecke. Partially erased pencil math problems to verso of front flyleaf; partially erased pencil repetitions of the name "Nellie" to half-title page. Boards with light wear and some spotting to cloth; bumping to spine ends. Front hinge cracked but firm. Leaves with scattered faint soil, spine cracked at one opening. Sound.
