THE MAGIC OF OZ
"An egg is the only thing I'm afraid of."
The wicked old Nome King drinks of the waters of Oblivion in this 13th Oz title first published in 1919, and the penultimate Oz book written by Baum. Infused with nostalgia for its own beginnings, full of the wistful charm that sits quietly beneath even the most boisterous and optimistic installments in the series, THE MAGIC OF OZ calls back old enemies and renders them harmlessly forgetful of themselves and their natures, with only the reader and the wise rulers of the Emerald City left to remember the mighty passions of the furious Nome King of old: "'You are all strangers. I – I'm a stranger to myself,' he said."
