"We drew our money out of the bank last Friday and divided it. We had almost forty dollars each, which proves that free enterprise is profitable."
Written as a series of journal entries (but, Henry insists, NOT as a diary), HENRY REED, INC follows the titular character as he founds a "research service" based out of an old barn. Hijinks, of course, ensue. HENRY REED, INC earned the 1961 William Allen White Children's Book Award and was followed by four sequels. Four of the books in the series, including HENRY REED, INC feature illustrations by double Caldecott Medal-winning artist Robert McCloskey.
