This Christmas story from the award-winning author/illustrator describes the captivating details of the annual holiday party thrown by two dolls in old-fashioned style: invitations sent by sparrow, carol-singing around the tree, and a marionette show coincidentally implying a complex doll hierarchy in which finely dressed children's toys sit high above the working-class puppets who entertain them. Delicate, nostalgic, and charming.
