The disgruntled malaise of the pre-Watergate years expressed in bright primary colors, with a titular imp who simply will not leave until he feels like it. Repurposed for political commentary as "Richard M. Nixon Will You Please Go Now!" and printed by Art Buchwald, with Seuss's permission, in the 1974 WASHINGTON POST ("My good friend Dr. Seuss wrote a book a few years ago titled "Marvn K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now!" He sent me a copy the other day and crossed out Marvin K. Mooney and replaced it with Richard M. Nixon. It sounded like fun so I asked him if I could reprint it. Please read it aloud.")
