Stokes was known for his paintings of outdoors and sporting scenes, and particularly for his portrayal of hunting dogs. Sweet Blobbs may not be as distinguished as Stokes's usual subjects, but we love him for it! Uncommon in such bright condition and in the original dust jacket.

Pictorial endpapers of a bulldog meeting animal friends and getting into trouble. Illustrated in color and black and white. [56] pages. Pencil gift inscription to front flyleaf dated Dec 1925. Jacket with light edgewear, a bit of faint staining to margins; several tape repairs to verso. Binding with mild edgewear, a touch of dampstaining to lower edge. Leaves with faint sliver of dampstaining to lower outer margins. Colors bright.
