"Maurice described the book as 'a series of seven fantasies in which Kenny was acting out sometimes irrational rages toward his toy soldiers [...] because the assumption was there was no discussing this with his parents. He comes to a resignation, which is, 'I've got to figure it out myself, and I guess I've gotta wait, and I guess I'm going to be alone.'" — Jonathan Cott
A scarce Sendak title, with dust jacket in unusually nice condition.
