The text in verse offers a fun way to teach telling time. Each page of text faces a wonderful full color illustration in the style of Denslow. In a 1914 issue of HOME PROGRESS, a mother attested to the usefulness of the CLOCK BOOK: from its "jingle verses," her daughter learned what the hand positions on the clock face meant "fairly well" —though when she was promised a watch as a reward when "she became much more of an adept" (793).
A lovely copy of a charming educational novelty.
