Tired of and resistant to mass production, Postman and her husband created the small publisher P'Nye Press in order to keep her books true to herself, focusing on handmade small runs. Although the books began as a solo endeavor, they became collaborations once Postman befriended Stone, an artist at her Jewish congregation. Their first project together was the 1979 release of THE YIDDISH ALPHABET BOOK, leading to a decades-long artistic partnership between the duo. The two went on to create multiple other books, including FASHION STATEMENTS, AMUSE BOUCHE and more, all with limited runs of 100 or less.
THE TRUE COLLECTOR stands out for its grander variety in materials compared to their previous works: including pop-ups, multiple types of paper, fabric, plastic, and moveable puppets. The vibrant artwork, paired with Postman's cheeky advice to all potential collectors and fun historical tidbits, makes this appealing to collectors from across mediums.
