In CONJECTURES AND REFUTATIONS, Popper argues that scientific knowledge evolves through a process of trial and error, not through intuition or pure reason. Building on his famous concept of falsifiability first introduced in THE LOGIC OF SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY (1934), Popper says theories originate as guesses or hypotheses (conjectures) that are then tested and criticized (refutations). A major work from one of the 20th century's most popular and influential minds, it is scarce signed.
