Most famous for his work as an engineer and producer (though he rejected this term) on such classic alternative albums as the Pixies' SURFER ROSA (1988), PJ Harvey's RID OF ME (1993), and (most importantly) Nirvana's IN UTERO (1993), as well as for founding the influence band Big Black, Albini was also an accomplished poker player. He twice won World Series of Poker bracelets (2018, stud; and 2022, H.O.R.S.E.) and played regularly, both in his native Chicago and — as attested to by the plane ticket laid into one of the books offered here — Las Vegas. A great association: one of rock's best minds learning from one of poker's best.
