"Did The Junk Gods ever give anything away for nothing?"
Burroughs was first turned on to Gysin's cut-up technique in 1959, in time to have its effect on his opus, NAKED LUNCH, in the final stages of its completion. The two went on to collaborate for the rest of their lives, with THE EXTERIMATOR marking one of their first full-length pieces on its original publication in 1960. After publisher Dave Haselwood left San Francisco's Auerhahn Press and struck out under his own name, he republished the work, reflecting the continued purchase that Gysin and especially Burroughs maintained on the mind of the counterculture.
Second edition. San Francisco: Dave Haselwood Books, 1967. 8.5'' x 6''. Original blue pictorial wrappers. [6], 51, [7]. Jacket rubbed and scratched with bumping to corners, creasing to rear panel. Some foxing.
