Three health manuals bound together, offering ADVICE TO A WIFE, ADVICE TO A MOTHER, and COUNSEL TO A MOTHER.
Price: $450.00
These small handbooks cover the basics of health and medical care for the Victorian woman. The first work, ADVICE TO A WIFE, covers pregnancy, labor, and nursing and includes an introduction "especially addressed to a young wife." The second, ADVICE TO A MOTHER, provides not only a list of home treatments for common ailments of children, but details healthy habits of eating, sleep, exercise and hygiene. It includes a second on vaccination, which Chavasse calls "one of the greatest blessings ever conferred upon mankind." The final work, COUNSEL TO A MOTHER, is a sequel to ADVICE, divided like its predecessor into sections for infants, younger children, and older children. Bound together, this volume serves as an all-in-one health guide to keep on the shelf as reference at home.
