Asimov had a close relationship with Walker and Company, a publisher specializing in science fiction hardcover titles. He published a whopping 125 titles with them (according to ISFDB), of which over three dozen were in this charming series of short introductions to major scientific concepts, "How Did We Find Out?" Asimov called writing the first one "sheer pleasure" and continued the series for nearly two decades, enjoying the variety of subject areas he was able to treat, from solar power, to lasers, to black holes. Many copies going to libraries, they are quite difficult to find today in such pristine condition.
