Scarce inscribed first edition of this second novel from the author of the cult classics THE BEGUILED and THE BEDEVILED.
Near fine in a very good jacket.
Price: $1,750.00
Like Cullinan's other two great novels, THE BESIEGED is concerned with Catholicism, the American Civil War, and the voices of women. Set on a "beseiged" South Carlina plantation, the story follows the Confederate daughter left alone to defend herself from the Union troops, led by Major McCloud. Uncommon as a first edition, it is truly scarce (as are all Caullinan titles) signed.
