First edition of this rather surreal collection of humorous poems about kitchen implements, with hilarious chromolithograph illustrations.
Very good plus.
"Two Suacy Saucepans, one rainy night, / Commenced to play and then to fight."
Somewhat Toy Story-esque in its premise ("As soon as you enter the kitche and rooms / [The Tin Tans] dissolve into common saucers and spoons"), this odd collection of humorous poems about humanized kitchen tools is enthralling. The at times chaotic illustrations recall those of STRUWWELPETER, but with the motion and cartoonish exaggeration of early Disney animated shorts. A fascinating work.
