Location:
Lilly Library, University of Indiana, Bloomington
Rare book expert Rebecca Romney visits the Lilly Library in conjunction with the Love in the Library exhibition to discuss the creation of her groundbreaking collection of romance literature.
The Lilly Library is the first special collections library to collect the romance novel in a significant and sustained way. The core of our growing collection was assembled by antiquarian bookseller and rare book expert Rebecca Romney. Join us for a conversation between Rebecca Romney and the Lilly Library’s Curator of Modern Books Rebecca Baumann. They will discuss the history and importance of the romance genre and the challenges and surprises that come with forging a new field of book collecting.
A reception with free food and drink will follow the conversation, along with hands-on activities exploring romance novels from the collection. You can also pick up an exclusive “Love in the Library” pin and sticker and make your own buttons featuring swoonworthy romance covers.
