Jessie Willcox Smith's beautiful illustrations of various Mother Goose rhymes were originally published in monotone in the pages of GOOD HOUSEKEEPING — THE JESSIE WILLCOX SMITH MOTHER GOOSE is the first time they were seen in color, with an original illustration on the cover. Nudelman notes the cover piece, showing two children nestled under the wings of Mother Goose's wings, as "one of Smith's most pleasing and warm images" (38). A Golden Age beauty in lovely condition.
