Twenty years later, Lucy Lippard recalled INFORMATION as "the most political show that the Museum of Modern Art ever had and probably ever will have." Though not expressly organized around political themes, the exhibition followed closely on the Kent State and Jackson State killings and Nixon's expansion of the bombing campaign in Cambodia. Hans Haacke responded with his famous MOMA-Poll; John Giorno packed his Dial-a-Poem project with radical content, eliciting a museum visit from the FBI, who monopolized the poetry telephone for most of a day and perhaps learned something from it. Other participating artists included Vito Acconci, Carl Andre, Keith Arnatt, John Baldessari, Joseph Beuys, Carlos D'Alessio, Hanne Darboven, Walter de Maria, Hans Haacke, Joseph Kosuth, Sol Le Witt, Bruce Nauman, Yoko Ono, Yvonne Rainer, Ed Ruscha, Robert Smithson, and Lawrence Weiner.
