PROTECT PROTECT, which ran from October 25, 2008 to February 1, 2009 before traveling to two other locations, features a foreword by Madeleine Grynsztejn and Sam Keller, an introduction by Elizabeth A.T. Smith, as well as essays by Joan Simon and Elizabeth A.T. Smith, plus Benjamin H.D. Buchloh's interview with the artist. The inscribees were strong supporters of Chicago's Museum of Contemporary Art, establishing the Edlis/Neeson Art Acquisition Fund, which, among other projects, underwrote the Holzer commission "For Chicago" (2007), a piece that strongly echoes the work in this exhibition. A significant association between artist and collector. Holzer's books are uncommon signed.

First printing. (Riehen/Basel and Chicago): Foundation Beyeler / Museum of Contemporary Art, (2008). 12'' x 10.75''. Original grey boards with titles in white. In original unclipped (no price, as issued) color pictorial jacket. 128 pages. Inscribed by Holzer on the half-title page: "For Stefan and Gael, / Jenny Holzer." Bright, sharp, and clean.
