Pittsburgh: A.H. English & Co., (1855). Full title: Osgood's Progressive Second Reader: Embracing Progressive Lessons In Reading and Spelling. 6.5'' 4.25''. Original printed paper covered boards backed in sheep, blind-stamped ornamental spine. 216, [2] pages. Penciled owner name to front fly leaf, other faint marginalia to endpapers. Boards considerably worn and largely illegible. Rear board cleanly separated into two parts, still attached at gutter. Foxing to leaves, text sharp and clear.
